Projects

Hands-on projects are the nuts and bolts of IGNITE (literally!). Often driven by
members’ interests and/or community needs, we strive to use tools and
equipment that students would not typically have access to, while providing
mentorship from CTE teachers and industry experts.

The projects usually have a STEM focus and are geared toward solving a real-
world challenge. Many of the projects include infrastructure improvements so
students can work through the details of stakeholder input, design, engineering,
planning/organizing, fundraising, materials, construction, installation, and
maintenance.

We also try to choose projects that will attract and engage students who would
otherwise not participate in school-sponsored clubs and activities.
